What can I do to get more booking requests?

If bookings feel a little quiet, don’t stress—it happens! The good news? There are a few quick things you can do to increase your chances of getting work through PAH!


✅ 1. Check your serviced categories

Head to your Settings > Serviced Categories and make sure you’ve selected all the categories (and subcategories!) you’re happy to work in. The more you tick, the more you’ll be considered for.

✍️ 2. Make your profile shine

Deaf customers want to know who you are before choosing you. A strong bio builds trust.
 
Make sure your profile includes:
  • A video bio
  • How long you’ve been interpreting
  • Your experience across different settings
  • Your strengths or what you love about the job
Bonus tip: Upload a clear, friendly profile picture that reflects your vibe. It makes a difference.


📱 3. Respond to all bookings

Interpreters who regularly respond (yes or no) are often prioritised by Deaf users and are more likely to be offered future bookings.

Here are a few tips to set you up for success.

  1. Have notifications on so you are aware as soon as booking requests come through

  2. Try and respond immediately. This means the customers aren't waiting for you to respond to their request and can get onto the next interpreter they want to ask.

  3. If you're not available make sure you action the request by clicking 'decline'. This lets the customer know so they can action accordingly.

🗓️ 4. Keep your availability up to date

If the app thinks you're unavailable, you won't be offered bookings.
 
So keep your working hours updated and accurate—especially if your schedule changes.

💬 5. Be active & reliable

Customers can (and often do) favourite interpreters they trust. Showing up, being professional, and building rapport can lead to more repeat bookings over time.
