🟡 Short Summary:
ABN life means keeping good records. We’ll help—but you’ll need a system too.
✨ Why it matters:
✅ Makes lodging your tax return easier
✅ Helps you claim deductions
✅ Keeps you compliant and confident
📋 What you need to do:
- Keep your own records of all interpreting jobs you’ve completed under your ABN—including PAH! and any other work you’ve taken on.
- Record your income and any expenses you might claim (e.g. travel, professional development, insurances).
- Track your super contributions (especially if you’re making them voluntarily).
- If you're unsure what to claim or report, speak to a tax agent who understands sole traders.
📦 What PAH! provides:
- Every fortnight, we send you a breakdown of jobs completed and payments made.
- At end of financial year, we’ll send a full summary of your PAH! earnings to help make tax time smoother.
✅ Our recommendation:
Even though we’ll provide your PAH! earnings summary, it’s still your responsibility to:
- Keep your own records
- Understand your tax obligations
- Lodge your return on time
📌 Bonus tip:
Keep a separate bank account for your business income—it’ll make tracking and saving for tax so much easier.
