To ensure fair and consistent payment for interpreters, PAH! applies minimum booking durations across all services. These minimums help account for time spent preparing, travelling, and being available for work.
To ensure fair and consistent payment for interpreters, PAH! applies minimum booking durations across all services. These minimums help account for time spent preparing, travelling, and being available for work.
Face-to-Face Bookings
All on-site (face-to-face) interpreting requests are subject to a 2-hour minimum.
Even if the actual appointment is shorter, interpreters will be paid for 2 hours.
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
Minimum times for VRI are as follows:
- Bookings 0 - 90 minutes are charged at a 1.5-hour minimum
- Bookings over 90 minutes are charged in 15-minute increments
These minimums are automatically applied during the booking and invoice process, so you don’t need to calculate them manually.
